PTO Updates

Hello Fellow Schnecksville Families!

The PTO needs your help with volunteering!

Many long time PTO volunteers have children graduating from 5th Grade this year. There are numerous PTO positions open for next year, including 3 Board positions. The attached PDF lists all the open and filled positions:  PTO Positions 2020-21.pdf

Please consider helping us by filling one of these open positions.

  • Many require minimal time (1-2 hours of volunteering).
  • Don't want to do it alone? Ask a friend to help and you both can fill the position.
  • If you would like to fill a position but cannot attend meetings, just email Rheann Grike & Kelly Sullivan at president.septo@gmail.com ‚Äč.
  • If you may be interested in a position but have any questions, please contact us.
  • You do not need to attend a meeting (which typically are 1-2 hours monthly) to become involved.

If there are still open positions at the end of June, the PTO Board will discuss whether any events need to be dropped from the calendar for next year.

Thanks for all you do!

Rheann Grike & Kelly Sullivan

PTO Co-Presidents 2020-2021

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer for Free and Reduced Eligible Students

The federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 provides benefits, referred to as Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), to families of school-aged children who would have otherwise received free or reduced-priced meals if it were not for school closures. A family will receive the benefit amount of $5.70 for each school-aged child in their family for each day school has been closed since March 16, 2020, IF the student was eligible for free or reduced-price meals PRIOR to school closures.  For purposes of P-EBT calculations, June 12, 2020, is being used as the last day of the school year.

The Department of Health and Human Services anticipates beginning to mail the EBT cards around June 5, 2020.  All households will receive a separate mailing that describes P-EBT and provides households with contact information for any P-EBT-related questions.  If you have questions regarding our school meal program, please call Lori Seier, Director of Food Services, at 610-351-5671 or seierl1@parklandsd.org.

A Note from Mrs. McFarland - Kindness is Jawsome!

Hello Schnecksville!

Our Kindness is Jawsome fundraising efforts came to a rather abrupt close this year, but we hope to continue to provide opportunities to purchase items in the future!  With that being said we have totaled the funds raised for this year that are being presented to the Graham Family.  This year's efforts, through "Kindness is Jawsome" t-shirt and bracelet sales raised $1,700.00 for this Parkland family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an amazing display of kindness, generosity and unity we displayed as a Schnecksville community!  Thank you to all who gave and participated this year!

If you'd like to see a little bit more of our kindness initiatives in action this year AND some of your adorable children's faces, check out this video produced by Parkland LIve - TV :
